Water Leak Detection Systems for Labs & Cleanrooms

leak detection system for laboratories

In the event of water damage in a laboratory or cleanroom, the cost of repairs and remediation can easily cost far more than a water leak detection system. Not to mention the expense of replacing damaged machinery or products (and research, which may be irreplaceable).

Dorlen Products manufactures reliable surface leak detection systems suitable for laboratory and cleanroom applications of all sizes, including:

  • Medical labs
  • Educational institutions
  • Industrial production labs
  • Research & development labs
  • Quality control labs
  • Pharmaceutical labs
  • Biotechnology labs
  • Semiconductor manufacturing
  • Medical device manufacturing
  • Food processing clean rooms

Water Alert detectors, monitors, and accessories provide reliable protection so you can be alerted at the first sign of a water leak threatening your lab or cleanroom, and take action before damage and downtime occur. All Water Alert products are backed by a 5-year warranty, and made in the USA.

Benefits of a Water Detection System for your Lab or Cleanroom

  • Improve the safety of staff and visitors

Spills and pooling water create a slip-and-fall hazard.

  • Protect your work

Both paper and digital files are vulnerable to water damage.

  • Lower insurance costs

Many insurers offer discounts on premiums when you install an early leak detection system.

  • Reduce the risk of fire

Water leaks that reach light fixtures or wiring can spark flames.

  • Continuous protection for peace of mind

On overnights, weekends, and holidays, our leak detection systems never take time off.

Water Alert Sensors & Monitoring Systems Protect Sensitive Environment

leak detection equipment for cleanrooms

Water Alert products include sensors designed for use above drop ceilings, in sub-floor areas, and below grated flooring, in addition to spot sensors.

VR Series

Our Vandal Resistant water detectors were designed for public/employee restrooms, and are also ideal for labs and cleanrooms. The unique “Wash Down Mode” allows the entire area to be cleaned without triggering the water alarm.

Our VR Series water sensors feature a corrosion-resistant design with stainless steel cover screws, extra heavy-duty powder-coated aluminum housing, and titanium water sensing probes activated by water or any conductive fluid.

Ceiling Guard

Ceiling tile water leak sensors detect small amounts of water before it leaks through to the room below. Create zones of protection against water intrusion from overhead pipes, the roof, or the floors above the lab or cleanroom.

Water Leak Sensor Cable

Water detector cable comes in varying lengths and can detect water from 0” to ⅛” on the floor. Ideal for large areas, perimeter monitoring, and water detection in subflooring. One or two cables can be connected to any Standard Series Water Alert detector.

Standard Series Water Alert Detectors

Six different models with optional accessories can be configured to meet the requirements of any application.

  • Model SS: Local, audible alarm only.
  • Model SS-1: Local and remote audible alarms.
  • Model SS-2: Local, audible alarm with extended alarm duration.
  • Model SS-4: No audible alarm. Ties into an existing alarm system or Building Management System. Can control pumps, valves & other electronic equipment.
  • Model SS-5: Audible alarm with extended alarm duration. Can also tie into existing alarm systems or BMS. Can control pumps, valves & other electronic equipment.
  • Model SS-2100: Audible alarm. Powered by a Series 2100 monitor.

Installation is quick and easy, typically handled by maintenance personnel.

In addition to labs and cleanrooms, water leak detectors should be placed in areas of the building where a leak is most likely to start, including staff kitchens or cafeterias, restrooms, and laundry rooms. Water detectors should also be placed around areas most vulnerable to damage from a leak, such as an onsite server room, and in unattended areas.
